In the East of France, a Pleasant City to Live in,

18079 inhabitants live in Bar-le-Duc, prefecture of the county of Meuse, but also one of the nicest places to go in France !
Surrounded by woods and built on the Ornain River, Bar-le-Duc is served by railways (Paris/Strasbourg, Paris/Metz) and by the canal Marne/Rhine.

The famous road of the First World War, the Sacred Road, starts in Bar-le-Duc and crosses the region up North to Verdun.

A network of cities called «the Triangle» is made up of Bar-le-Duc, Vitry-le-François (Marne) and Saint-Dizier (Haute Marne) - 200.000 people live in this area.

In 2002, Bar-le-Duc was given the label of
«Ville d’art et d’histoire »
(City and Region of Art and History). Let’s discover its exceptional architectural heritage (from the 15th and 18th centuries), either spread in the valley or gathered in the upper city.
